Our History & Values

Finch Group was founded by Peter Finch in 1971 when he left Sun Life Assurance to set up as an insurance broker and financial advisor.

Very much a family business, Peter was joined by his son Paul in 1980 and a few years later by his other son Matthew Finch.

After 27 years, Peter retired from the business in 1998, with Paul and Matthew welcoming Nigel Bull and Vincent Gardner into the partnership to help build the business.

Since then the Financial Services and General Insurance divisions have separated to establish two separate companies within the Finch Group:

• Finch Financial Services Llp
• Finch Commercial Insurance Brokers Ltd.

Both businesses have flourished into one of the most respected Financial Services and Commercial Insurance teams in the South as well boasting a boutique Private Client team that caters for all of our individual client needs.

More recently Finch Group opened a second office in Basingstoke to service clients locally in North Hampshire.

Driven by both organic and acquisition growth Finch Group has built a reputation as an innovative and service driven business.
