Following on from our new office opening in Basingstoke earlier in the year, we are pleased to announce a collaboration with a local charity called The Café Project.

The Café Project is a charitable trust that aims to support Learning Disabled (LD) people with employment and training opportunities in Basingstoke.

We will be working hard to organise a number of fundraising activities over the coming year to raise as much money as we can to help purchase some of the commercial kitchen equipment needed to set up the training facility in the Community Café.

Vince Gardner, Managing Director of Finch Commercial, commented, "Staff at Finch picked The Café Project as its Basingstoke charity of the year because of the work it does with learning disabled people. We'll have some fun along the way, but our aim is serious - to raise as much funding as we can for this great local charity."

Paul Finch has just completed a marathon cycle ride around the island of Sicily in aid of our nominated charity the Royal Berkshire Buscot Ward.

This is what Paul had to say...

“Thank you to everybody who sponsored Cathi & I on our epic adventure cycling over 1000 km around Sicily.

This was an amazing experience which we completed in approximately 8 days of cycling carrying our own luggage and stopping off at bed & breakfasts on route around the beautiful coastline of the island.

It was a fantastic experience made even more enjoyable by the fact that we raised approximately £500 for the Royal Berkshire Buscot Ward who specialise in neo-natal care for babies requiring intensive high dependence or special care.

Thank you once again for everyone who sponsored us in raising money for this very worthwhile cause.”

Acquisitive Berkshire & Hampshire based Broker Finch Commercial, is restructuring its Board from 1st January 2010 following a review of its growth strategy.

Vincent Gardner has been appointed as Managing Director. Gardner has been with Finch since 1996 and has been promoted from Broking Director.

Matthew Finch has moved from Operations to Finance Director. Finch will work closely with Gardner on mergers & acquisitions.

Ashley Canning, former Managing Director of property specialist Keelan Westall, has been appointed as Operations Director and is based in Finch’s Hampshire office.

Paul Finch remains in his capacity as Non-Executive Director and continues to work as Partner within sister company Finch Financial Services LLP.

Commenting on the changes, Gardner states “our new Board structure ensures the necessary strength of governance to take the business to the next level. I am confident that we are well positioned to flourish in the coming 12 months and beyond. Ashley and Matthew bring a wealth of experience to assist me in our growth plans”
