People have been evacuated from flood-hit homes across large parts of the UK, including the Thames Valley, and thousands of properties are at risk as record water levels are set to rise further.
The Environment Agency said it had never issued as many severe flood warnings and that many areas had seen more than double their average rainfall*.
There are currently 14 severe flood warnings in place in Berkshire and Surrey alone as the Thames reaches record levels and people are being advised to ensure maximum precautions are being taken, whether it is the family home, a business, vehicle or travel plans.
